After the shadow
is in place, apply the eye pencil at the base of the bottom lashes, going
half-way in (stopping at the pupil). I also line the base of the top lashes
in the same way, stopping at the pupil. Reason being that if you bring
the liner all the way in, it tends to make the eyes look smaller. By lining
the eye half-way, you are creating a more open look. After using the pencil,
take a thin square-tipped brush and blend, blend, blend the pencil! This
creates a more natural, sort-of groovy, smoky look. To increase the drama,
you can go over the blended pencil with a little bit of brown eye shadow.
This sets the blended pencil and also adds a little more depth to the
eye...Smokarama!
LASHES
Now, this is the moment to utilize that archaic instrument that could
only have been invented by a man--the eyelash curler! Note: please be
sure that you don't have to sneeze when using this. For as weird as it
looks, it is "the bomb" of instruments! And it really does make a difference
in your lashes. How to do it: open the eyelash curler and put it at the
base of your top lash. Be sure not to grab any skin. Now, press down.
If it doesn't hurt, you're doing it right. Continue by spelling b-r-i-d-a-l-b-a-b-e
aloud, then release! Now repeat the process on the other eyelash
and perfecto--your eyelashes are groovin'! Now, you can apply your mascara.
Don't pump the wand it only makes the mascara clump. When you put
the mascara on, start at the base of your lash and brush outward. As you
are brushing outward, press the lashes toward your eye, mimicking the
eyelash curler. As a final note, I always use a lash comb while the mascara
is still wet. It helps to remove clumps on the lashes. Just start at the
base of the lashes, and then comb outward. Congratulations! You are now
president of the luscious lashes ladies club.
EYEBROWS
Isabelle's brows are nice, but very light in color. I want to bring them
out just a bit, while making sure not to make them too dark or prominent.
I simply want to balance them with the rest of her face. To achieve this
effect, use a soft brown eyebrow powder. Using a brow brush, apply the
powder under the brow hairs. This will fill in any bare spots, and also
create a more natural look because the make-up is UNDER the brow hair,
not on top. The look will be a soft brow--defined, but not drawn on.
