Here, I use a powder
foundation. It helps keep skin from getting too shiny over a long period
of time. This type of foundation tends to stay matte longer than liquid
or cream foundation. So, if your skin tends to be a bit on the oily side,
and you have the marathon wedding just around the corner, a compact foundation/powder
might be a wise choice. It gives good coverage and stays fresh looking
for a long time!
BLUSH
A soft peachy blush is perfect here. With her pale skin, just a little
bit is enough. Too much would be such a disaster, because it would take
away from everything else on her face. We don't want to see streaks, or
stripes of blush…just a glow of color. I apply her blush on the apples
of her cheeks, but sweep it upward towards her temples, making her face
a little more angular. Brides seem to think that for pictures, blush should
be stronger. I really disagree. There is nothing worse than painted cheeks.
Be sure to apply your blush so that the color ENHANCES your face, not
sits on it. A little really goes a long way.
CONTOUR
A soft contour is always nice, because it makes the blush stand out in
a subtle way. I use a subtle brownish powder under Rori's cheekbones ever
so slightly. We definitely don't want to overdo it. We just want the face
to speak for itself! I also contour her nose a little bit. A brownish
powder goes on the sides of her nose, and also at the tip. To blend and
set this, I use my powder/foundation puff and go over it with powder.
